A bold title I’m sure you’d agree! What is the Ultimate leadership Programme? If we asked one hundred different managers or one hundred different organisations we would get a different answer each time. So how can you put together one “Ultimate” leadership programme?

The answer is “you can’t”, or more accurately “you’d be mad to even try!”

So why our boast? Well the answer is that we do our absolute best to create “your” ultimate leadership programme.

It’s a bit like the million dollar question “What is truly excellent customer service?” With the answer “It’s any damn thing the customer says it is!”

So we don’t have a leadership programme to “sell”. We have hundreds or possibly even thousands of Leadership Programmes to meet whatever needs your management community has.

 

What Can We Do?

 

What follows is examples of a number events and programmes we have delivered for our clients:-

 

Short Burst Master Classes (90 Minutes)

Specifically designed to fix problems or address immediate issues, for example, objective setting or giving feedback.

 

One-Off Sessions

These would probably also be designed to meet a specific need, but one that is too meaty to be covered in just a couple of hours. For example if there was a problem with handling poor performance in a business we would need to consider the areas of knowledge, skills, attitude, culture, and HR support to name but a few.

 

“One and Done” Events

Two to Four day events that are self contained development events. These usually include some pre-course work and always include a large element of action planning.

 

Modular Programmes

These can take many forms. Two events, three four five depending on what you want your managers to cover. They can range from six week intensive splurges to year long programmes tied into a whole performance review and appraisal cycle.

 

One to Ones

One to one sessions as part of a coaching programme or as part of the overall leadership modular approach.

 

Obviously the content of these events is completely bespoke to you, your needs and your objectives.

 

 

How We Can Do It?

 

This is where we can get really creative. We can do:-

  • Completely bespoke 360º exercises based on your management competencies and values
  • Use well known and loved 360º tools, like Kouses and Posner so you can benchmark your managers against the “norm”
  • Wildcard sessions where the delegates agree what they want to cover for part of the event based on what they feel will make the biggest difference to their performance
  • A whole range of self-assessment tools (SDI, MBTI, Belbin, SLII, DISC, etcetera) from which we will pick the best one depending on what you want to achieve
  • Business projects for the duration of the programme
  • A link into your company’s Corporate Social Responsibility projects to give managers a real-life experience while benefiting the community
  • Presentations of transfers of learning back into the board or senior managers around the business
  • The creation of Action Learning Sets from among the delegate community
  • Creating a coaching culture within organisations (please see Creating a Coaching Culture for more information)
  • A whole host of action planners to help people actually apply what they have learnt
  • Use of actors to real-play different situations and practice the skills covered on the training
  • E-mail follow-up and visits to this web site for more tools, techniques, refreshers, videos and pod casts
  • Outward bound, adrenalin filled buttock clenching death slides, or gentle tree-hugging walks in the wood with an accompanying Simon and Garfunkel sound track
  • Using video to let people see how they really are
  • Creating corporate videos that support the aims of the program
  • RaRa Kick-Off events that set the tone and demonstrate the buy-in of senior managers to the programme
  • RaRa Wash-Up events where delegates may present on projects but almost certainly involve prizes, fun and rewards
  • Buddy schemes and mentoring schemes to help people feel they are not alone when they get back to the day job
  • Telephone support as and when needed
  • Coaching support from Emerge facilitators
  • Coaching programmes for senior managers to support the training
  • Familiarisation events for senior managers so they know exactly what their people are going through, what changes to expect and what behaviours they should be modelling themselves
  • As part of the TNA for the programmes we have also conducted assessment centres, diagnostic workshops and focus groups
