Kaz White

Personal Profile

Kaz has over 30 years’ experience in the field of learning and development. She began her career as a teacher in New Zealand and then as an adventure enthusiast Kaz extended her work into the outdoors environment when she moved to the UK in 1998.

Her full time strategic work focused on inclusion of disabled young people in recreational activities gave her an insight to the challenges disabled people and their families can face. This further developed her passion for creating environments where everyone can thrive rather than simply survive. This theme continues to be woven into all the work she does.

Kaz’s professional experience has included designing and delivering leadership and change management programmes for Hampshire Police, Fire and County Council. This work extended into facilitating successful team development days, across the partnership, with a focus on meeting individual team’s development requirements.

Background and Experience

Kaz has worked as a freelance consultant for the last 10 years working alongside individuals and teams to support them to be at their best. She has a highly focused yet informal style, bringing warmth, energy, positive challenge and understanding to all of her sessions. She is passionate about creating safe, engaging and inclusive learning environments where people feel comfortable exploring ideas, reflecting on their behaviours and learning from each other.

Kaz has worked across a wide range of diverse sectors both as an associate trainer and with her own clients. Utilising a dynamic experiential approach Kaz invites participants to reflect on real life experiences so that they can easily apply learning back in the workplace.

Her passion for inclusion grew from being brought up in a culturally diverse community where people learnt about each other and celebrated their differences. From Kaz’s experience as a facilitator she’s observed that a key barrier to inclusion is the fear people can have of ‘getting it wrong’. She encourages people to lean into this discomfort with a sense of openness, curiosity, compassion, courage and kindness for self and others. She leads through sharing her own vulnerability and humanness
